Smoothie bowls are a great way to start a day.  One particular smoothie base I like usually contains an avocado, spinach, coconut milk, protein powder, plus or minus whatever else I have lying in the kitchen.  The toppings can be anything from berries (blue-, straw-, rasp-), dried goji berries or raisins, nuts (almonds, walnuts, pecans), coconut flakes, or seeds (pumpkin, hemp hearts, flaxseeds).

As long as I have my bases covered – a good fat (avocado, coconut oil, liquid omega-3, or MCT), a protein (powder, hemp hearts, or veggies like kale) – I’m good to go.
